
Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymeen
Uthaymeen was born on 9 March 1925 in the city of Unaizah in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia. He memorized the Quran at a very young age. During his studies, he received extensive religious education in Hadith , Tafsir , Theology and Arabic under the supervision of renowned scholars in Saudi Arabia, and graduated from the Sharia College, Umm al-Qura University in Riyadh . He became a member of the Saudi Senior Islamic Scholars Commission, a professor at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Qassim , and a member of its Academic Council. He contracted work on various aspects of Islamic doctrine. His most important books are on fiqh. He has 15 volumes and 10 volumes on the interpretation of the Quran. He also taught in the Holy Mosque in Mecca during Ramadan.
He was commonly known as Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen; he taught Islam to students and the public through regular classes, publications, radio programs, and outreach and consulting activities.
Sheikh Al-Uthaymeen was a professor of Islamic studies at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and a member of the Higher Committee of Ulema. He was awarded the King Faisal International Prize for Service to Islam in recognition of his distinguished career as a Muslim scholar and his tireless efforts to promote the cause of Islam.
